I woke up this morning to get a receipt from Amazon, telling me I bought a book… which is odd, since I would have remembered. Then I realized–oh, this is a book I pre-ordered–back in April! Then it hits me, “Oh YES!!!”
For those fans of military sci-fi, Marko Kloos’ Frontlines Series is ungodly amazing! You follow Andrew Grayson from starting as a kid, to raw recruit, to trooper. Then comes the Lankies; 10-foot-tall armored alien killing machines who start wiping out human colonies left and right. Humans are not winning… and it’s not good for Grayson, who’s on the… well, front lines.
Insanely good action, wonderful characters, very gritty and realistic military–the author is amazing in dragging you into his universe and grappling you there. Just when you think things can’t get more dire, he upps the stakes. Just when you think things are calm, other situations arise.
I’ve re-read these books at least three times–it’s such good candy. He introduced the concept of a combat controller to me, an Air Force role I never heard about before, but it allows Grayson as your POV character to show you the whole war. At the same time, he drops with the first wave, so he’s got great battle sequences.

I don’t want to go into too much detail, because too much would spoil it, but trust me–READ THIS SERIES! Actually, start with Terms of Enlistment, and I won’t have to tell you… you’ll just do it.
Is there a series you can’t wait for the next book to arrive? Have you seen one in the past? Let me know in the comments below!
